Having the skill of small blades will give proficiency with weapons such as daggers, knives, and short swords. These weapons are geared towards speed rather than damage, and as such dexterous fighters will be the most effective with them. Since they lack the power of mauls or battleaxes, fighters often find that the most effective tactic is to execute a stealthy backstab or circle stab. Proficiency in small blades is not required to be an effective tailor.
