Take yourself back to the time when powerful Sorcerers, Mistresses of Magic, evil Necromancers and wicked Witches ruled the destinies of most common folk and peasants like you and I. These powerful magick users would have commisioned exquisitely tailored clothes from skilled elves and drows and weaved their powerful magicks into their very fabric.

Getting Started

Now you too can tailor your own clothes and enchant them with magic spells yourself, using the tailoring and enchanting skills. Tailored clothes are popular with magic and spell users due to their lightness, durability and low encumberance.

Tailoring is distinct from blacksmithing in the sense that it does not use metallic base materials, but rather uses the types of materials you would expect to use in tailoring, eg Silk, Wool, Hemp, Canvas and Leather to name a few examples. Most materials used in tailoring can be purchased from Triska in Southern Reutgarten, but some such as Silk, can only be obtained through Silk Farming.

As in its companion craft Blacksmithing, item quality is largely dependant on your skill level in tailoring and the quality of the knife you use to tailor with. Tailoring knives can be purchased from Triska or if you have the blacksmithing skill, you can smith one yourself, the knife is in the Small Blades weapon category.

A useful side benefit of having the Mining skill is the use of the 'combine' and 'chunk' cammands, which can be used to combine and divide tailoring materials in the same way you can combine and divide ores. A very usefull facility for managing your materials.
